Excavation Services: General Information
 The excavating capabilities of the trained, experienced personnel at Land and Lakes are unmatched. In fact, excavation contracting was the original focus of our business. Since our inception in 1966, we have moved hundreds of millions of cubic yards of earth.Our excavation services encompass two main areas of concern: environmental and construction. Over the years, our environmental projects have included municipal pollution control projects, landfill cell development and final closure cap construction, geomembrane liner installation, wetland mitigation, power plant site work and removal and disposal of contaminated soils. The scope of work on these projects encompassed land clearing, berm construction, slurry wall construction, erosion control, excavation of earth and rock, placement of aggregate and sand, installation of gas and leachate collection systems, stormwater drainage, protective coverings and vegetative layers, and roadwork and other infrastructure construction. In the construction arena, Land and Lakes’ projects have included residential, commercial, and industrial site development; artificial lakes; marinas and recreational facilities. Our areas of expertise include clearing, mass site grading, final grading, excavation, storm sewer, storm water management basin construction and more. To meet the varying needs of these undertakings, Land and Lakes owns, operates and maintains our own fleet of over 150 pieces of specialized heavy earth-moving equipment. Additionally, we provide a full line of hauling and disposal services to meet all the needs of our clients. We are well equipped to handle the excavation aspects of a project as well as the hauling, disposal and recycling of dirt, sand, and construction and demolition debris. As a licensed special waste hauler, we have the capability of permitting and hauling non-hazardous special waste. We can even dispose of these waste streams at our own landfill.
